Capel 13 v Cornerstone 0
Capel under 11’s hosted Cornerstone on a cold overcast morning on Saturday. Right from the kick off the Wolves made their intentions known with pressure and tackling an early highlight. Within minutes Daniel Lewis scored (the first of his 5 goal haul) to round off a great attacking move.
Not to be outdone his fellow striker Taylor Barr was also soon on the scoreboard and continued to impress with penetrating runs to finish with a four goal haul.
But by far the highlight of the game was a well worked passage of play down the left resulting in a pinpoint pass across the box, to where Douwe Rupke had run into the back post position from where he drilled the ball into the top right corner of the net.
Our strikers were well supported by an energetic midfield and rock solid defense. In the 13-0 result keeper Jack Herbert rarely touched the ball. Although a great result for Capel, we give credit to Cornerstone who never during the whole game dropped their level of enthusiasm or sportsmanship.
Well done guys, you were worthy opponents!
