Vasse Ravens 3 v GMAS United 1
It was a bleak and wintery Saturday morning when the Vasse under 13 teens took on GMAS United at Barnard Park, Busselton. The sky was black the wind was chilling to the bone and the rain an ever ending thereat. None of this stood in the way of an entertaining and competitive game from both teams.
Vasse came out determined to build on their good form, and went straight on the attack. GMAS stood their ground and did not make it easy for the opposing team. However the continuous attack from Vasse soon paid off with a well constructed goal putting Vasse a goal in front. GMAS came back at Vasse to try and even the score but the Vasse defense was impenetrable.
The Vasse team continued the pressure again paying of with another goal scored as he did the first by Caelin Langley who was having an outstanding game. The opposition could not control the skill that Caelin was displaying. The teams went into half time with
Vasse leading 2-0.
In the second half of the game the GMAS came out fighting they took the game to Vasse and had many early chances. For a time Vasse was rattled and before long the pressure paid off with a great goal from GMAS to come within 1 goal of Vasse.
The Vasse team had to regroup and maintain their structure and composure which the carried on and regained the upper hand with another fantastic goal by Caelin Langley to score his hat trick.
The winners of the game where Vasse Ravens and it was well deserved.
